The term flus designates the fundamental vital energy, both ambient and intrinsic, present in every natural thing, including living being, on Tamurt and, more broadly, throughout the universe of Vaïluvah.
The flus constitutes the vital substance of all beings, intangible yet universal. It circulates passively and continuously within the organism, determining health, vigor, and vitality, and forming an invisible and complex network that converges at a point in the center of the thorax as a living flame, it is comparable to a circulatory system, though of an energetic rather than physical order. It is the life energy that flows through all living entities composing Vaïluvah, as necessary as blood is to humans or sunlight is to plants. Its abundance and quality depend on age, experience, state of health, and the innate capacities of each individual. The nature of the flus is universal, yet its intensity and density vary, creating a spectrum of vitality unique to every living being.
Its etymology traces back to the Hunnic expression Maï’n-flussa, literally meaning “the energy (flussa) of (’n) Maï (Maïhuni)”, a reference to Maïhuni, the Huni of Life, who presides over immaterial creation and vitality itself. Over the course of centuries, the term underwent a gradual transformation: Maï’n-flussa became flussa, then, with the loss of its final a, fluss, and finally, through phonetic simplification, flus.

The Fluctuation Technique consists of transforming the natural and passive aura manifested by the Flux into an active tool. It allows the practitioner to give their aura direction and intent, enabling them to directly influence their own body, that of their opponents, or even the environment around them. Its power depends on the amount of Flux available to the practitioner, the precision of their control, and their ability to maintain their Fluctuation in a stable and concentrated form.
With sufficient practice, a practitioner can employ their Fluctuation in three main ways: defensively, psychologically, and offensively. These applications do not necessarily constitute separate techniques; rather, they represent different ways of actively utilizing the same aura.
When two Flux practitioners clash, the one with the weaker Fluctuation suffers more from the impact. A sufficiently powerful Fluctuation can therefore reinforce the body and serve as a natural form of protection against attacks.
A significant difference in Fluctuation can also allow a practitioner to neutralize the abilities of an opponent whose Fluctuation is considerably weaker.
A significant difference in Fluctuation can induce a feeling of terror or helplessness.
A sufficiently powerful and deliberately concentrated Fluctuation can immobilize an opponent through the sheer pressure of the practitioner's presence.
The presence of an extremely powerful Fluctuation can disrupt the senses and cause dizziness.
The Golden Impact designates the spatial deformation that occurs when a strike lands precisely within the Golden Frame. This Golden Frame results from the conjunction of two essential laws. The Golden Interval defines the infinitesimal moment of 0.000007 seconds during which flus becomes flux, creating a window of perfect superposition with the point of impact. The Golden Ratio, given by the equation φ = (1 + √5) / 2, approximately 1.6180339887, governs the harmonic relationship between the different components of the movement: the arm, the rotation of the torso, the alignment of the shoulders, and the trajectory of the flus.
When a Golden Impact occurs, it is no longer flux that strikes but flus itself. At the instant when the flus wave and the point of impact overlap according to the Golden Frame, space deforms as though its inner geometry were adjusting to that perfection. At that moment, the flus emits an intense golden radiance. The power of the strike is multiplied by three, and this amplification persists during the following minute, throughout which the practitioner enters a secondary state similar to the zone described in physical disciplines, a state in which the body instinctively seeks the Golden Frame. In this condition, it becomes possible to chain multiple Golden Impacts.
The success of a Golden Impact depends primarily upon chance. The first occurrence arises when posture, trajectory, and flus align spontaneously within this dual proportion. Skill and training increase the likelihood of such alignment, yet the true activation of the Golden Impact remains unpredictable. It is a rare and beautiful event, and above all, a miracle. After experiencing a first Golden Impact, the manipulation of flux, ordinarily a voluntary act, becomes as natural as breathing. It is as though all previously unseen nuances of flux are suddenly revealed. A combatant who undergoes this experience may reach up to 170 % of their potential.
According to certain Hunnite scholars, the Golden Impact bears the mark of Saïhuni upon the flux. For beyond its distinctive color, documented instances of Golden Impact began to appear, or at least to be recorded, only after the eleven years of wandering, lending weight to the belief that this phenomenon is a silent imprint left by the Huni of Space upon the vital energies of Vaïluvah.
A flux talent, or flux blessing as it is named by the more religious, designates the specific and personal manner in which an individual’s flux comes to be structured, behaves, and reacts after sufficient training. Upon reaching this stage, the passive physical reinforcement provided by the basic flux is also significantly heightened. The flux talent manifests when the flux acquires stable properties unique to its bearer: an elemental nature, a particular behavior, or affinities with certain forms or effects. These properties are not techniques in themselves, but rather the functional foundation from which techniques are later devised. Two individuals may produce effects that appear visually similar, yet their flux talents remain fundamentally different and difficult to reproduce, as each depends on the physiology, psyche, and repeated use of the flux by its bearer.
flux techniques are the concrete applications of a flux talent. They are conceived, developed, and refined by the practitioner. A technique corresponds to a precise function: projecting, concentrating, enveloping, binding, transforming, or sustaining the flux according to a defined intention. A single flux talent may give rise to a wide variety of techniques, each distinct in form and usage. Their effectiveness depends on the individual’s mastery of their flux and the creativity of its wielder. Flux techniques are never innate; they are the result of imagination, active learning, and progressive adaptation.
Example — An individual whose flux has developed an electrical property and a red hue chooses to formalize this specialization. They name their flux talent “Scarlet Lightning.” This Talent is not limited to the production of electricity alone; it defines a coherent logic of use. From this foundation, the practitioner develops flux techniques: projecting a bolt of lightning toward an enemy, electrocuting through direct contact, transmitting the discharge through a metallic conductor, charging physical strikes with electricity, creating a zone of temporary paralysis, or diverting ambient electrical energy.

An Iman (from Kabyle iman, meaning soul), formerly called fluss’iman, is an evolved form of flux, in which an individual’s flus structures itself into an autonomous and personalized manifestation. The Iman is neither a spell, nor an invocation, nor a flux talent. It is a direct expression of the soul through the flux, taking the form of an entity, a presence, or a distinct power, yet remaining inseparable from its bearer.
Each Iman possesses its own form, personality, and abilities, all influenced by the psychic and identity state of its bearer. It functions as an amplified mirror of the soul: its powers are precise, often unique, but deeply marked by the bearer’s flaws, contradictions, and traumas.
An iman may manifest without prior flux training, unconsciously. This occurs in individuals whose relationship with their identity is troubled: lack of self-knowledge, rejection of identity, deep defect, trauma, or persistent internal contradiction. In such cases, the iman appears as an energetic projection of inner disturbances, a form chosen by the flus to express itself spontaneously.
The iman functions as an autonomous entity, capable of fighting, attacking, defending, or using specific abilities. Every action, special aptitude, direct attack, or physical interaction consumes a significant amount of flux. The bearer must therefore maintain a high natural reserve of flux to use their iman effectively. Even with a large reserve, the iman imposes a major constraint: simultaneous management. If the iman does not act fully autonomously, the bearer must manage their own flux (reinforcement, techniques, movement) alongside the iman’s actions, requiring extreme concentration and coordination. Like the amrig, the iman does not prevent the use of flux but makes simultaneous use far more demanding.
When the individual resolves their inner troubles, overcomes their contradictions, and fully understands themselves, the iman evolves into an Iman Soma. This evolution improves the coherence between the bearer and their iman, enhancing synchronization and the efficiency of flux consumption. The abilities become more stable, powerful, and fully coherent, reflecting not only regained strength but also a fully understood and assumed identity. The iman soma thus symbolizes inner fulfillment, with soul and flus working in complete harmony.
An Amrig (from Kabyle amrig, meaning weapon), formerly called fluss’amrig, is an object, most often a weapon, imbued with an individual’s flus. It is neither a spell nor a simple flux-enhanced tool, but an object that has integrated a portion of its wielder’s vital force. The amrig is an evolution of flux, on the same level as a flux Talent. It results from the manipulation of flux, yet what is truly anchored within the object is the wielder’s flus. The amrig is not an autonomous source of power. It does not generate flus and does not replace mastery of flux. It functions as a catalyst and an extension of the individual. Once awakened, the amrig develops its own identity, appearance, and unique abilities, directly linked to the nature of its bearer.
An amrig can form in two ways. The first is natural and unconscious. When an object becomes deeply connected to a person through attachment, history, or prolonged use, the individual’s flus gradually permeates it without conscious intention, eventually causing the awakening of the amrig. The second is voluntary, performed by a flux practitioner. Initially, the principle is simple: to strengthen a weapon with one’s flux, in the same way flux strengthens the body, by transferring its aura to the object. Over time, repeated reinforcement brings about a deeper phenomenon: the wielder’s flus infuses into the object, simultaneously as the flux acts on its surface. This dual process, manipulation of flux and infusion of flus, eventually transforms the object. When a threshold is reached, the object “reveals” itself and becomes an amrig.

Once awakened, the amrig may be released, revealing its true nature through an altered appearance and specific abilities. To perform its first release, or after a certain period of inactivity, the wielder of an amrig must necessarily speak an activation command, followed by the name of their amrig. This first activation allows the wielder to awaken and release its power. Once the release has been performed, subsequent activations within a short period of time no longer require the wielder to speak the command or the name: they can simply trigger the transformation through their will alone. These abilities are not standard flux techniques; they are unique to the object and cannot be reproduced by another wielder. The effectiveness of an amrig depends entirely on the bond with its bearer. In the hands of another individual, the amrig reverts to a simple object. Moreover, if the wielder evolves but neglects their amrig, it results in reduced effectiveness, partial rejection, or even a total break of the bond.
The culmination of this relationship is the Amrig Soma. At this stage, the object and the individual evolve in perfect synchronization. The amrig undergoes a major transformation in both appearance and abilities, becoming a direct extension of the being who wields it. The bond becomes so profound that the amrig responds instinctively to its bearer without the need for conscious activation. The amrig soma is not a mere ultimate weapon; it is the manifestation of the total union between an individual, their flus, and the object they have shaped through their very existence.

The sorcery of the Oz is one of the oldest disciplines of flux manipulation, born from the teachings of the teryal, the first creatures capable of directly interacting with ambient flus. The teryal possess a unique ability: they can extract, attract, condense, and shape the flus surrounding them without having to draw from their own vital reserves. They are therefore capable of making the energies present in air, ice, rock, vegetation, or any other natural element converge toward them, then transforming them directly into material manifestations. This exceptional mastery forms the foundation of their sorcery and explains why their power far surpasses that of ordinary practitioners.
By observing this ability, the first non-teryal witches developed the foundations of sorcery of the Oz. Unable to fully reproduce the direct manipulation of ambient flus, they sought to formalize the phenomena observed among the teryal through incantations, gestures, catalysts, and named spells. Each spell is a precise method that allows the practitioner to give their flux a form, a direction, and an intention in order to produce a specific effect.
Over the centuries, this knowledge was codified by the Sisterhood of the Oz and passed down to subsequent generations, giving rise to one of the greatest magical traditions in Vaïluvah. Yet even at the height of their art, human witches remain limited by their own flux, while the teryal can draw directly from the energy of the world around them. To them, flus is therefore not merely an energy they possess: it is an omnipresent resource they can command.
The sorcery of the Oz remains an extremely private and secretive discipline, jealously guarded by the Sisterhood of the Oz, which accepts only women into its ranks. The teaching of spells is exclusively passed down by the teryal, from their domains buried within the inlandsis within Greyshore, where the extreme conditions make the learning process as dangerous as the art itself. Few are those who undertake this path, and rarer still are those who survive the years of instruction. Every student admitted to receive this teaching must also swear an unbreakable oath, forbidding her from revealing, passing on, or disclosing the secrets entrusted to her. This oath binds her very existence to the secrecy of the Oz: should a student attempt to break her word or deliberately pass on this knowledge to an unauthorized person, the oath is fulfilled and brings about her death. Thus, for centuries, the knowledge of the teryal has remained confined to this select circle, passed down only to those deemed worthy of receiving it.
A spell is a controlled manifestation of flux, designed to produce a specific effect on the material world. Their versatility is almost limitless: they can be used to attack, defend, immobilize, repel, protect, transform, move, reveal, conceal, or alter matter and the environment. A single principle can also give rise to several different applications depending on the practitioner's mastery. A spell's power therefore depends not only on its formulation, but also on the amount of flux mobilized, its precision, the caster's will, and their ability to maintain the manifestation.
Spells can be performed through an incantation, with or without a gesture, but the most experienced practitioners can also cast them silently and sometimes without any visible movement. The name of a spell is therefore not the magic itself: it serves as a guiding formula, allowing the practitioner to impose a specific intention and form upon their flux. Most manifestations take on an appearance that is unique to them, independent of the natural hue of the flux that fuels them.
Oz witches do not possess this ability: despite their teachings under the teryal, they must always use their own flus, which they transform into flux before shaping it through a spell. Their magic is therefore necessarily limited by their personal reserves, their flux talent, and their mastery.
Among the teryal, however, the process is radically different. Their unique ability allows them to manipulate ambient flus directly, without having to convert their own vital energy into flux to fuel their spells. They can draw in the flus present around them, concentrate it, move it, shape it, and make it manifest directly in the material world. A teryal spell can therefore draw upon the natural forces of an entire region and produce manifestations of extraordinary scale.
The beddeř is a technique unique to the teryal and their descendants, no matter how diluted their blood may become over the generations, so long as a trace of their heritage remains. It is a passive ability that allows its user to draw in, accumulate, and condense the ambient flus directly within their body. The foreign flus then coexists with the individual's own flus.
However, the flus accumulated through the beddeř cannot be manifested without consequence: the moment it is converted into flux, it triggers the adexcim.
The adexcim is the transformation caused by the manifestation of the flus accumulated through the beddeř. When it occurs, the foreign flus completely floods the witch's body, transforming her into a divine-looking form, whose features vary according to the individual and the nature of the assimilated flus. Halos, wings, markings, crowns, additional limbs, or other manifestations may appear, each reflecting the witch's true nature and her power.
The adexcim is not merely a physical transformation, however: it also reveals a personal spell within its wielder, unique to her existence and possessing immense power. This ability may be passive or active, but it is always intimately connected to the appearance of the adexcim, as though the ability itself had taken physical form through the body of its user.

The martial spells are a discipline of flux mastery developed within the Purifying Special Force. Unlike Oz sorcery, which relies on formulas designed to produce various effects on the material world, martial spells are primarily designed for combat, purification, and troop support.
Their versatility remains considerable, however: they can enhance physical abilities, protect, attack, immobilize, repel, heal, restrain, or temporarily alter the properties of a target's flux. Their effectiveness depends on the amount of flux mobilized, the practitioner's precision, their mastery of the body, and their ability to maintain and direct their flux under pressure.
Martial spells are divided into two major categories according to their target. Jiko encompasses techniques in which the flux is applied to the practitioner themselves, while Tasha refers to techniques in which the flux is directed toward another person, a creature, or an external target. This distinction forms one of the foundations of martial spell training within the Purifying Special Force.
Each spell possesses a concentration formula that serves as a guide for the flux. Reciting the complete formula allows the practitioner to perform the technique with its full power and stability. A sufficiently experienced purifier can, however, omit part of the formula, or even use the spell without an incantation, although this requires significantly greater mastery and may reduce the spell's precision or power. At the highest level, certain purifiers are capable of activating their spells by pronouncing only their name, turning a technique that would normally require preparation into an almost instantaneous manifestation.
A spell's power does not depend solely on its level, however. The purifier's flux remains the determining factor: a master can make a low-level technique far more dangerous than a beginner using a theoretically superior technique. A spell's level therefore primarily represents its complexity, the amount of flux required, and the difficulty of mastering it, rather than an absolute limit to its power.
Finally, martial spells can be combined with one another. An experienced purifier can superimpose several flux manifestations, alter the form of an existing spell, or use a defensive technique as a component of an offensive one. This ability to divert or combine spells is one of the clearest signs of advanced mastery of the martial arts of flux.
